Wheelie Bin Collection
If your bin hasn’t been emptied please first check if:
- The correct bin was left out for collection
- The bin was out on time. We recommend that all bins are left out for collection before 6am as we cannot guarantee that they will be emptied at the same time every week. Collection times often vary due to circumstances beyond our control.
- Your account was paid up to date/had sufficient credit
- The correct items were placed in your Wheelie Bins.
- Was your recycling bin contaminated with any non-recyclables?
- Was there any clinical or hazardous waste in your waste bin?
- The Wheelie Bin was too heavy. A Wheelie Bin is considered too heavy if it is difficult for one person to move. If this is the case the Wheelie Bin cannot be serviced, as it presents a serious risk to the safety of our staff and to the public in general, as it could fall off the lifting mechanism and seriously injure someone. There is also the risk that a Wheelie Bin could fall into the back of the truck and a replacement Wheelie Bin would need to be issued at the expense of the customer.
If none of the above applies then please contact us and we will investigate the matter further.
Wheelie bins should be left out at the edge of the kerb/road in a visible and safe place, not on the path/driveway of the house.
The handles of the bin should be pointing towards the road.
Please ensure our collection vehicles have safe access and the bins are not blocked in or hidden behind vehicles etc.
Collection operatives will not enter private properties to take out bins unless otherwise agreed in advance in exceptional circumstances.
The use of the Wheelie Bin is the responsibility of the householder. Mulleady’s cannot monitor unauthorised depositing of waste. If this illegal dumping persists, you should contact your local litter warden who can investigate further.
We recommend getting a gravity lock for your wheelie bin to prevent this from happening. Please contact our office.
